Join SimpleX Group

Thank you for your interest in joining our community! The Beginner Privacy community operates on SimpleX, a platform we selected for its strong privacy features. The good news is that installing SimpleX is very straightforward.

Installing SimpleX

SimpleX is compatible with various platforms, and you can choose between a Graphical User Interface (GUI) or a terminal version. For beginners, we recommend using the GUI, as it is more user-friendly. If you prefer the terminal version, you can find instructions here.

Step 1: Download SimpleX

• Linux:

  • AppImage, Flatpak (for most Linux distributions)
  • Ubuntu 20.04, Ubuntu 22.04 (Debian-based distros)

Setting Up SimpleX

To get started with SimpleX, follow these steps:

1. Create Your Profile

   • Click on the Create Profile button.
   • Choose a profile name.
   • Select a long, unique passphrase for encrypting your data.
     • We recommend storing this passphrase in a password manager.

2. Join the SimpleX Group

   • To join our SimpleX group, simply paste the following link into the left sidebar:
